What is QTenders?

QTenders is the official procurement portal for the Queensland State Government. It is the primary platform where Queensland Government departments and agencies publish tender opportunities, manage the tender process, and provide suppliers with access to procurement information.

What is Published on QTenders?

The platform provides access to:

• Current tender opportunities — Open Tenders, RFTs, RFPs, RFQs, and EOIs from Queensland Government entities
• Standing offer arrangements — Standing Offers and Panel Arrangements open for applications
• Awarded contracts — details of contracts awarded, supporting transparency and accountability
• Supplier information — registration and self-service tools for suppliers

Who Uses QTenders?

QTenders is used by:

• Queensland Government departments (e.g., Department of Transport and Main Roads, Queensland Health)
• Statutory bodies and government-owned corporations
• Some local councils and other public entities

Note that Commonwealth tenders appear on AusTender, and other states have their own platforms such as Buying for Victoria.

• Self-service registration — create an account to access full tender documents and submit responses
• Email notifications — subscribe to alerts based on UNSPSC product/service categories
• Online lodgement — submit tender responses electronically through the platform

• Buy Queensland initiatives promote Local Content and support for local businesses
• Specific emphasis on Indigenous procurement and social enterprise objectives

Tips for Tenderers

• Register and set up alerts — do not miss opportunities because you were not looking at the right time.
• Familiarise yourself with the platform — practise navigating and downloading documents before you need to submit under time pressure.
• Use the Q&A function — agencies respond to all suppliers’ questions, so even reading other suppliers’ questions can be informative.
• Submit well before the deadline — upload issues near closing time are common on all portal systems.
